Discipleship is not a program at Calvary Chapel Greer; it is a way of life that we are committed to as a church. The great commission (Matthew 28:19-20) is our charge and gives us our priorities: be a disciple and make disciples.
Although our sins have already been judged at the cross , ultimately the level of spiritual growth and fruitfulness of every believer will be tried at the judgment seat of Christ: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.(2 Corinthians 5:10).
True spiritual growth is not just about knowledge of the scriptures; it is the ability to put God’s word into practice in life. For most Christians, the real hindrance to growth is not from a lack of knowledge, but the result of unresolved personal and spiritual conflicts.
The Community Freedom Ministry of the Upstate is a ministry of CCG designed to reach our church body, as well as those in our community, with the message and method of discipleship. Our mission is to help produce spiritually free and fruitful disciples of Jesus. Our adopted freedom in Christ approach to discipleship has been proven effective in helping many at CCG, as well as countless others around the world, to find their freedom and fruitfulness for God’s Kingdom.
